BITS Studio’s story began with a discovery in a Brussels painting school: surfaces that appeared to be marble or wood had been made entirely in paint. For founder Blanca Scully, that encounter opened a way of working in which painting could transform both an object and the space around it. The collaboration brought this practice to the International Heritage Fair in Paris. Scenography and art direction created a setting for visitors to encounter the painted pieces, their material references and the techniques behind them. The presentation became an invitation to look closely, speak with the maker and imagine where traditional skills might lead next.
