Info

This collaboration is a collective performance by Artist Cornelia Krafft imagined in Masrah Al-Madina and supported by the American University of Beirut, reinterpreting the original 1913 Rite of Spring as a symbolic exploration of unity, hope, and shared responsibility in a context of social upheaval. The work unfolds through scenography, set design, lighting, and art direction that articulate the four elements, generational characterizations, and circular forms to evoke collective presence and transformation. The design translates choreography and performative gestures into an immersive spatial narrative, using the transformation of fire and elemental symbolism as metaphors for communal resilience and the pursuit of a shared future
